1. Is there anything I need to do in preparation for the irrigation installation?

No. Rainscape Lawn Sprinkler Systems, LLC is a full-service irrigation company who will take you through the process start to finish. We contact DIGSAFE to locate underground utilities on your property and arrange for all necessary plumbing to be performed by a licensed plumber.

2. After my system is up and running, is there anything I need to do?

Typically, no. However, simple adjustments of the controller may be necessary to ensure an adequate watering cycle and duration. Your system is virtually maintenance-free with proper seasonal servicing.

3. How long does it take to install an irrigation system?

Usually the installation takes only one day, but in some cases additional time may be necessary.

4. What sort of or how much damage to my lawn should I expect?

We use a great deal of caution during installation and use machinery that minimizes turf damage. There is a chance that you may have to repair only limited portions of your lawn. The likelihood of damage depends upon how well established your turf is and soil conditions. Usually in one month's time, you would never even know we had been to your home.

5. I have a well. Can I still have an irrigation system?

Certainly. We specialize in low-pressure systems for well-derived water supplies. With today's advanced technology, there are numerous options available.

6. I have several flower beds. Will these need hand watering?

No. Drip irrigation, or commercial soaker hoses, is the primary way to water individual beds. Wrapping drip around beds, shrubs and other plantings ensures that they receive adequate hydration through water penetrating through to the roots without overhead watering, which can burn the foliage.

7. I'm having some work done at my property. Should I wait to have the system installed until they're done?

The type of work being done will ultimately determine the time frame. For instance, if you are having a new lawn installed or repaired, we would be the second to last step in the process, the last being either your hydroseed or sod. In the case of general building or construction, we can typically work around other contractors unless a large portion of our installation area is obstructed. In this scenario, it would be best to wait until completion of the project.

8. Is there any upkeep involved after installation?

Our service schedule includes a spring turn-on and a winter shut-down. We will contact you to schedule both of these appointments.

9. Will the irrigation system still run when it's raining?

The installation of an automatic rain sensor is standard on systems we install and will ensure that after rainfall has accumulated, the system will temporarily stop the automatic watering cycle. The rain sensor will then detect when the system needs to be re-activated (after sufficient drying time). The rain sensor is fully adjustable to allow for seasonal watering requirements, i.e. more rain in summer, less in autumn, allowing greater water conservation and peace of mind.
